This easy-to-prep classic hot dog recipe uses Ready. Chef. Go!® bags in the microwave or air fryer to make the perfect meal for any picnic or outdoor summer event.

Serves 2 to 4 depending upon bag

  • 2 to 8 Favorite Hot Dogs
  • 2 to 4 Favorite Hot Dog Buns
  • 2 to 4 Favorite Sliced Cheese (Optional)

    Use RCG! standard bags in several sizes and colors.  Put one or two dogs into each bun.  Some dogs are long and thin & are great doubled up in longer brioche buns.  Add ½ half or one full slice of cheese if desired. Load into bags & seal the bags.

    COOKING INSTRUCTIONS: Microwave on power 7 for 2 mins for two dogs or 3 mins for four dogs.  Or roast in conventional or toaster oven or air fryer for 10 to 12 mins on 350.  Let rest two mins to complete steaming.  In the microwave the buns will be soft, supple, moist and tender.  In ovens & air fryer, the buns will have toasty crispy edged. 

    Garnish with a gigantor array of condiments (see our Zucchini Relish alla Nerano* below), including, mustards, ketchup, hot sauces, pickled onions, relish, sauerkraut, pickled vegetables garlore and more.  Serve along side massive platters of summer snacks like chips of all potato & tortilla sorts, popcorn, veggie crisps, sweet & savory, crispy mushroom snacks & MORE!  Remember, it’s just not a proper hot dog if it’s not fully loaded & sloppy w/ a variety of condiments in every bite, all together or sequential.

    BONUS RECIPE
    *Zucchini Relish alla Nerano

    Makes one generous pint

     

    • 1 Pound Small Zucchini, green, yellow or combo
    • 3 Tbs EVOO
    • ¼ Cup Sweet Marsala
    • ½ Tsp Black Pepper
    • 1 Clove Garlic, minced
    • (Opt) ¼ Tsp Caraway Seed
    • (Opt) 2 Tbs Roasted & Unsalted Sunflower Seeds (Slava Ukraina)
    • 10 Ounce Dill or Sweet Relish (WFM)

     

    Slice zukes into thin rounds & saute in EVOO & sweet marsala over medium heat until just golden brown.  Once some of the slices begin to break down stir in garlic, black pepper and caraway & sunflower seeds if using.  When garlic is fragrant, after a minute or two, remove from heat and cool, then stir in relish.  Pack into a pint jar and cool.
